This year Oxford Ironmongery is proudly celebrating their fortieth anniversary, as the company was founded in 1979 on the Botley Road in Oxford by Colin Pilbrow.  It was known for serving mainly trade customers.  The company was bought by Julian Newman in 2004 and it has grown in all aspects.  It has moved to larger premises in Headington Oxford, which is a showroom for doors and architectural hardware in real settings.

The business continues to grow and now serves architects, interior designers, builders and the retail sector across Oxfordshire and surrounding areas.  Not forgetting the colleges of the University – where some requests to match existing hardware has proved fun and not a little difficult!  Working in Oxford Ironmongery now are 2 fully accredited diploma holders and another who has just completed year one of the training.  This year, its Managing Director, Julian, becomes the President of the Guild of Architectural Ironmongers – a great honour and one that the company is really looking forward to.
